World Qualifier.
It’s already the end
of the season. I’m leaving for new adventures as I’m going to Shanghai for my
studies. I wanted to come back on the season and explain the reason that pushes
me to participate to the Freeride World Qualifier.
femme.
Starting with the
results with a good progression this season, coming from the 16th to be 6th on
the overall ranking for Europe Oceania area. It’s not enough to reach the
Freeride World tour next year but I’m the first French female on the ranking.
Knowing that our country is not represented on the World Tour in the ski female
category.
The possibility to
reach the Freeride World Tour is a big motivation for most of the riders
including myself but a lot of other elements make me enjoy competing.
Being car-less I had
to figure out my travel over Europe with the other competitors. I ended moving
with different people on every contest getting to know great people sharing the
same passion. That’s how I ended leaving in a two weeks road trip with Chloe
Roux Mollard and Nikki Salencon.
Travel to Andorra with the Swiss snowboarders; where Greg Tusher was hopefully
here to represent the skiers and Claire Mc Greggor the female gender. We have
done a two-way trip to Austria with Anouck Mouthon in 48 hours; I thank again
her sister that lands us her car. Without forgetting my friends from la Clusaz,
Loic Collomb-Patton, Mick Bijasson and Aziz Benkrich. The FWQ is as well a
human experience; and over the competition it is a place where you create
friendship and mutual aid.
The traveler I am is
also enjoying discovering new places. I had the chance in the past two years to
travel to Switzerland, Norway, Austria and Andorra. We don’t always have the
budget or the time to appreciate all the stops. This year however, I keep in
mind my trip to Austria, where I had the chance to stop for a few days in
Innsbruck to visit a friend I met in Santander, Spain meanwhile we were studying
as Erasmus student 4 years ago.
